AILET vs CLAT – Which Exam is Tougher?
When a candidate initially starts the preparation for law exams, their first thought is usually which one is hard to get into. Below we have listed some of our observations regarding both exams:
- Over 59,000 applicants apply for the 3283 seats in 22 NLUs.
- About 19,000 candidates compete for 180 NLU Delhi seats.
- According to data, roughly 17 contenders are competing for one seat in CLAT. On the other hand, almost 150 people are competing for a single NLU Delhi seat.
- The majority of applicants apply for both AILET and CLAT, which is an important statistic to take into account. Admission to NLU Delhi is more difficult because it is among the top 5 NLUs according to the NIRF Ranking.
So we can conclude that when we compare the number of candidates for each seat, AILET is more difficult than CLAT. But when we compare the complexity of the questions in AILET and CLAT, we find that CLAT has more challenging Legal Aptitude questions, which are based on fundamental legal concepts. However, to make the CLAT easier for candidates, more comprehensive question types have been added.
FAQs
AILET is the most common law entrance exam and lasts for the least amount of time—1.5 hours. Because of its somewhat lower passing ratio, it is also regarded as being more difficult than the CLAT. Of the three exams, the LSAT is the longest (about three hours) and is regarded as the hardest.
There are 120 questions in the CLAT and 150 in the AILET. Current Affairs, English Language, General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning are some of the portions that are the same on both tests. But some of the topics differ in both exams.
No, any candidate who wishes to get admission at NLU Delhi will have to appear in AILET.
