The MPEG full form is Moving Picture Experts Group. It is a group established by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). The MPEG consists of a group of experts who can determine the video/audio encoding and transmitting standards. The Group was founded by  Leonardo Chiariglione & Hiroshi Yasuda in 1988. However,MJPEG is an alternative to MPEG launched by other companies. It is not the standard method. However, it helps in storing motion video.
