The full form of AFC is the Asian Football Confederation. It is the key governing body of football throughout Asia and many countries are a participant of it. It was founded in the year 1954, in Manila, Philippines and currently, it consists of 47 members. The President of the Asian Football Confederation is Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa with its headquarters in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. AFC has merged with the Asian Ladies Football Confederation which was a different segment for ladies football till 1986.
