The University of California, Davis was founded in 1908 as University Farm, a research and science-based education extension of the University of California, Berkeley. UC Davis is well-known for having the greatest agriculture and veterinary medicine programmes in the world. As the century progressed, UC Davis' mission broadened to encompass a broader vision of how it should serve the public. The university's campuses, including the main academic campus, are located along Interstate 80 in Yolo County, next to the city of Davis, USA. Sacramento, the state capital, is home to UC Davis Health. UC Davis also has holdings and facilities around California, as well as one in Nevada.
