Set up in the year 1962 by its then president, Dr Timothy Stokes, South Puget Sound Community College is a public community college located in Olympia, Washington that offers skill-based associate and certificate degrees. Departments are fractionated into two campuses, namely, Lacey and Olympia campuses. The college has been recognised by College Choice and Aspen Institute College Excellence Program amongst the top 50 community colleges and amongst the top 150 community colleges respectively. Pathways of study include disciplines of arts and communications, automotive, welding and manufacturing, business, finance and office administration, cultural studies, food, beverage arts and hospitality, government, public and nonprofit administration, healthcare, information technology, science, engineering and math and lastly social services and education. Further, it also offers online, evening, adult and corporate learning programs. The college at present serves a student population of nearly 5,000 students from all backgrounds and countries with part-time enrollments accounting for 2,092 places.
