South Orange, New Jersey's Seton Hall Institution (SHU) is a private, catholic research university. Seton Hall is the oldest diocesan university in the United States. It was established in 1856 by the then-bishop James Roosevelt Bayley and was named after his aunt, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. It is religiously affiliated with Catholicism and academically affiliated with ACCU and  NAICU Space-grant. In sports, it is affiliated with NCAA Division I: Big East ACHA: CSCHC. It is ranked 237 by Times Higher Education in US Rankings 2022 and 127 positions in National Universities by US News and World Report in 2022.

Located in South Orange, New Jersey, a suburban area 30 minutes from New York City, Seton Hall University is a private non-profit institution. With 11 schools and colleges, Seton Hall has a total student population of around 5,800 undergraduates and 4,400 graduates. The university offers immersive student services and hosts a wide variety of organizations and activities on campus. Health services, the job centre, educational opportunity programmes, and counselling and psychological services are also available to students. The university also offers Continuing Education, Online, Dual Degree, Certificate, and Special Programs, in addition to its undergraduate and graduate programs.
