Established in 1959, Renison University College is an affiliated institution of the University of Waterloo with its campus situated on the western border of Waterloo’s main campus. Most of the academic courses offered within Waterloo’s Faculty of Arts primarily focus on the disciplines of Social Science, Language and Culture. It aims to allow students to enjoy the benefit of being a part of a smaller community while achieving a valuable University of Waterloo degree. Major programs include Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work along with programs in Social Development Studies, East Asian Studies, Applied Language Studies, Studies in Islam, Religious Studies and credit and non-credit courses in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic.

The university college is stretched across 6 acres in Waterloo, Ontario. The Founders Building is the first infrastructure in the college which incorporates offices, classrooms and two residence wings. The university college also houses the Lusi Wong Library, offering students with access to 7 million digital and paperback books and journals.
