History, Affiliations and Rankings

Established in 1909, the ESSCA School of Management by the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of the West in France. In 1967, the institute became an association. The institute initially used to offer two-year degree programs that were later changed to three-year programs and then to four-year programs. In 1980, the institute was authorized to offer diploma programs. In 1993, the university got affiliated with the ‘Management Chapter’ of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles. The institute has affiliations with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, EPAS (Electronic Protocols Application Software), EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE), and  UNAM (Université Nantes Angers Le Mans). ESSCA School of Management ranks #141 - 151 in World University Rankings in Masters in Management and #56 by the Financial Times in Masters in Management. 

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

ESSCA School of Management has four campuses: the main campus is in Angers, and the other one is in Paris, Budapest, and Hungary. The Angers Campus has eight amphitheatres, the main building is located in the Belle Beille campus in the centre of the Park,  40 classrooms, one multimedia space, three computer labs, a media library, and meeting space. Paris campus is situated in Boulogne-Billancourt, a town referred to as a major economic centre in Paris. The Paris campus has gardens and greenery around it, the building is situated on the riverbanks of the Seine near the Pont de Saint-Cloud subway station. The new campus in Paris mainly focuses on enhancing research and specific study projects, allowing for the continued development of the institute's global profile by increasing its capacity to accommodate students from around the world. ESSCA School of Management offers a wide range of programs and courses – Bachelor's, Master's in finance, marketing, and management.

Accomplishments and Alumni 

ESSCA School of Management was the first business school in France to introduce the 5 years  “Grand Ecole” program. The “Grande École” label is designated for the top business schools in fields such as management and engineering. The institute also fights against global warming. In?2012,?the institute's assessment of the carbon footprint helped to begin reducing the numerous types of energy consumption, insulating the buildings, awareness of the best practices, re-lamping, presence sensors, and the automatic closing of computer labs in the evening. The alumni of the institute are Victor Schulte, Investment banking Analyst, Victoria Yazbeck, Program Manager at Amazon, and Margaux Lavaud, Vice President at Goldman Sachs.

Student Diversity and Visiting Companies

ESSCA School of Management has over 7,000 full-time and part-time students with over 150 faculty staff. The school have students coming from all over the globe to study their management and business programs. ESSCA has established a department that brings together students and employees who work together in consultation with ESSCA’s Management in order to assist in actions that aim at raising awareness and fighting against all forms of discrimination. The visiting companies are Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Amazon and others.
