Niagara College was founded in 1967 in response to a province-wide drive to build schools that offer career-oriented diploma and certificate courses, as well as continuing education programmes. The Maid of the Mist Campus' hospitality, tourism, and culinary programmes relocated to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus in 2004. The College opened its Niagara College Teaching Winery in 2002, which was Canada's first commercial teaching winery, and its Niagara College Teaching Brewery in 2011, which was also Canada's first of its kind. The college is associated with the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC), Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). According to the US News and World Report, the college is ranked #21 in Regional Universities North (tie), #41 in Best Colleges for Veterans, and #2 in Best Value Schools.

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

The Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology (also known as Niagara College Canada) is a public college of applied arts and technology located in the Niagara Region of Southern Ontario. The Welland Campus is located in Welland, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus is located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and the Ta'if Campus is located in Ta'if, Saudi Arabia. The university offers a total of 139 programs in the credentials of Academic Upgrading, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor's Degree Certificate, Certificate of Apprenticeship, Diploma, Graduate Certificate, International Graduate Certificate, Pre-Apprenticeship and Statement of Completion.

Accomplishments and Alumni 

Ontario's Minister of Colleges and Universities, Jill Dunlop, presented Niagara College's President Emeritus, Dr Daniel J. Patterson, with the Minister's Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2021 Higher Education Summit in Toronto. According to total research funding data for 2018, Niagara College has taken top place in the country, according to Research Infosource Inc. The university's consistent position as a leader in Canadian research is highlighted by the fact that it is now in the top ten for the fifth year in a row. To contribute towards sustainability, 65% amount of overall waste from the college campuses was diverted away from landfills through recycling and other initiatives in 2018. The achievement list of colleges is unending. The college has a prestigious network of nearly 80,000 graduates applying their skills and expertise across the globe.

Student Diversity and Visiting Companies

Niagara College offers 130+ certificate, diploma, apprenticeship and bachelor's degree programs and 600+ credit, vocational and general interest courses. Every year, the state-of-the-art facilities welcome over 10,000 full-time students, including over 1,000 international students from 70 countries. There are many clubs, societies, bands and leagues for students coming from all sorts of backgrounds. Aside from that, 88.1% of college graduates gain employment within 6 months of graduation. 91% of employers were very satisfied with the Niagara College grads that they hired.
