Nassau Community College is one of the largest single-campus community colleges in the state of New York established in 1959. The college is a part of the State University of New York offering 62-degree and 20 certificate programs to over 11,258 full-time and 7,801 part-time students from more than 60 different countries. Moreover, it provides the largest number of Associate degrees in New York and the 3rd largest in the United States. Major programs include Chemistry, Physics, Civil Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Sound Recording, Nursing and Music. The college campus is spread on a beautiful 225-acre land ensuring special accommodations, outstanding student care facilities, food and health services, NCC Library, bookstore and counselling services and programs. There are more than 110 academic, religious, political, cultural and athletic clubs for NCC students. The college is known for its more than 20 athletic teams called the ‘Lions’ engaged in sports activities like baseball, cross country, football, basketball, golf, indoor and outdoor track & field, lacrosse, tennis, wrestling, softball and much more. The students can also enjoy great performances of the NCC Theatre and Dance Department or experience jazz, rock, Latin and classical music concerts at the campus.
