The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) was established in 2001 and is the country's leading vocational education institution. Through six colleges in Malta and Gozo campuses, the university offers 185 full-time and more than 300 part-time professional courses, from certificate to graduation (MQF level 1 to 6). As a result, the students are prepared for careers in various industries or universities.Â
The 6 MCASTÂ Institutes include the Institute of Applied Sciences, the Institute for the Creative Arts, the Institute of Engineering and Transport, the Institute of Business Management and Commerce, the Institute of Community Services, the Institute of Information and Communication Technology. MCAST Malta works closely with local industries to ensure that the knowledge, skills, and abilities are suitable for a dynamic and forward-looking economy. This relationship has contributed to the success of the college. The courses at the university are flexible, relevant, and responsive to the needs of students and the needs of an industry that is constantly evolving to meet the ever-changing global economic challenges.
MCAST has a broader and unique area of ??expertise in higher education and offers courses from Level 1 to Level 6. As part of the Maltese qualifications, MCAST offers preparatory courses at levels 1 and 2 for students who can leave mainstream school without a formal qualification to achieve at least a professional qualification of level 3 and possibly more. MCAST also offers Level 4 courses for students seeking technical-level employment or pursuing an advanced degree. Finally, MCAST offers Level 5 and 6 courses, and students aim to earn their first degree. All of these different levels are an essential part of MCAST's mission.
