McDonough School of Business

Washington, United States

A university committed to research as a central part of its mission which is privately owned and funded, Georgetown University, established in the year 1789, grants affiliation today to nine undergraduate and graduate schools which include The School of Foreign Service, Medical school, Law school, School of Business among others. Georgetown covers forty-eight disciplines in the academic sphere, accepting students from about 135 different countries. The university stands in the position of having the oldest Catholic and Jesuit affiliation in the field of higher education in the United States. Even though the university enrolls about 10,000 postgraduate students and nearly 7000 graduation candidates, the admission process is rather competitive and has been identified as "most selective" by U.S. News and World Report. Georgetown claims to offer a productive ground that serves as a culmination of dedicated faculty members, hardworking students, and a functional administrative body. Some of the major subjects that attract much of the attention in the university are Political Science and Government, International Relations, Finance, Economics, Liberal arts and Humanities, psychology, Marketing, Business, and International Business. Notable alumni include former U.S. President Bill Clinton, actor Bradley Cooper, journalist Maria Shriver, and Hall of Fame basketball player Patrick Ewing, a co-anchor of the Today Show Savannah Guthrie and actors/comedians like John Mulaney, Jim Gaffigan, and Mike Birbiglia Student clubs and organizations along with community service form an integral part of the institutional body as the university aims at pushing its students toward the nobility of public service and incorporate oneness across diverse cultural systems and religious beliefs.
