History, Affiliations, and Rankings

European University (formerly EU Business School) was founded in 1973 as a private institution of higher education. The EU Business School was acquired in 1999 by Dr. Kirk Craen, now the school's honorary president. A range of prestigious international accrediting bodies recognized the school's upgrades under his leadership. The Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) and Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP) are both recognized by CHEA, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The university became a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business in 2006 and was accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (IACBE) in 2010. EU Business School has been recognized on a global level by leading international rankings. In fact, QS currently rates the school with four stars for business excellence and ranked the on-campus MBA in the top 140 worldwide, and the online MBA 20th.

Infrastructure, Campuses, and Courses

In addition to its campuses in Montreux (1987), Geneva (1987), Barcelona (1989), Munich (1991), and online (2012), EU Business School operates online. Choosing these cities was based on their cosmopolitan environments and thriving business sectors. Two centrally located campuses in Barcelona provide students with a perfect learning environment for enjoying life in the Mediterranean. With state-of-the-art facilities and innovative buildings, both EU Barcelona Campus locations are easily accessible. The university is surrounded by beautiful urban parks and nearby coffee shops, bakeries, and bars with terraces that are perfect for a lunch break during the summer months. Students can also enjoy our student room to relax and interact with classmates from all over the world. Several bus stops and tram stops are located outside the building. It takes five minutes to walk from campus to the Maria Cristina metro stop. There is plenty of underground parking nearby. In addition to business foundation programs, it offers bachelor's, master's, MBA, and DBA programs that are taught exclusively in English.

The world-renowned QS Stars Rating has rated the European Union as a four-star business school. The online MBA program has been ranked number one in the world and the presedential MBA programs in the top tier for global and European MBA programs.
