Boston College is the first ever institution that was set up in the city of Boston and is now a leading university for the fields of scientific inquiry, liberal arts, and student formation. With the motto "Ever to Excel" and the colors Maroon and Gold, it inspires students to introspect and develop their talents and minds to the fullest and employ their knowledge to the service of the society and peers. It includes 9 schools and colleges across the Boston city which impart courses in the subjects such as Arts and Science, Management, Education and Human Development, Nursing, Social Work, Law, Theology, and Advancing Studies. The U.S. News and World Report awarded a tied 38th rank to Boston College in Best Nation Schools of 2018. It currently has over 9000 graduates and 4500 postgraduates. The main campus is situated on the Chestnut Hill and is spread across 6 miles in the west of downtown Boston. They have a Carney Faculty Center and McElroy Commons that make up the middle campus. Other campuses include the Newton Campus and the Brighton Campus that was set up between 2004 and 2007.
