History, Affiliations and Rankings

In the spring of 1959, the two educational institutions named babes and Bolyai were united under the name Babe?-Bolyai University. In 1995, Babe?-Bolyai University reorganized its structure, introducing a multicultural-based education. UBB is affiliated with the International Association of Universities, Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities, Eutopia, the Santander Group, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, and the European University Association. Babes-Bolyai University is ranked #675 in Best Global Universities

Infrastructure, Campuses, and Courses

Babes-Bolyai University's main campus is located in the city of Cluj-Napoca, with the university buildings spread across the city. Its campus is very huge. All dormitories are well renovated and have double-glazed windows, laminate flooring, and chipboard or wood furniture. The university also has several colleges located in other cities spread across Transylvania and Maramure?. The university also has a museum. UBB has 256 undergraduate study programs in 42 fields. Of these 165 programs are in Romanian, 46 in Hungarian, 6 in German, 35 in English, 3 in French, and 1 in Italian. 

Accomplishments and Alumni 

Babes-Bolyai University is one of the best and most representative Romanian universities. At the national level, BBU has been awarded the title of the university of "advanced research and teaching"  and was ranked the best Romanian university in the national meta ranking of the Ministry of Education and Research. At an international level, BBU is a constant presence in the international ranking of the universities as one of the best and most representative universities in Romania and Eastern/Central Europe. In December 2018, UBB was also granted the "HR Excellence in Research” award. Some of the notable alumni are Iuliu Ha?ieganu -  physician, Lucian Blaga - philosopher, Traian Herseni -  sociologist, Virgil I. B?rbat -  sociologist, Ákos Birtalan - Minister of Tourism

Many students from all over the world come to this university. Babes-Bolyai University is very diverse. More than 8000 international students study here. Many reputed companies come to this university for providing placement.
