About Zhejiang University Scholarship
Zhejiang University Scholarship is a fully funded grant provided by the Chinese government to international students. It invites applications from non-Chinese students who are in need of financial aid to pursue their higher education in China.
Hangzhou is home to Zhejiang University (ZJU), which was founded in 1897. It is the most respected university in China. The institution offers 300 postgraduate degree programs and 140 bachelor’s degree programs. The institution is now ranked 38th in the world.
Zhejiang University Scholarship Details
The students selected for the Zhejiang University Scholarship award will be rewarded an amount of CNY 2,000 (INR 23,000) and the student pursuing a Master’s degree will be rewarded with a grant of CNY 1,700 (INR 20,000). Students who are going for Doctoral programmes will get a scholarship for the duration of 3-4 academic years whereas, for Master’s degree students, the scholarship amount will be available for 2-3 academic years.
The Zhejiang University Scholarship provides students with monthly allowances. Applicants who have applied before the 15th will receive the full amount whereas students who have applied after that will be awarded a partial amount.

Eligibility Criteria For Zhejiang University Scholarship
- The Zhejiang University Scholarship is open to applicants who are outside of China.
- Candidates should have a solid academic record and a significant capacity for scientific research in order to be considered for the scholarship.
- Candidates who are currently receiving other scholarships are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Students applying for this scholarship must also be in good health.
- The applicant for a master’s degree must be under 35 years old and hold a bachelor’s degree.
- The applicant for a doctoral degree should not be more than 40 years old and must have a master’s degree.
Application Process For Zhejiang University Scholarship
Following are the general steps to apply for a CSC scholarship. In order to apply for this scholarship, students must go through the following procedure:
- Application Period – Each year, between January and April, applications are accepted for the CSC Scholarship. Various institutions or colleges set different deadlines. Students should check the deadline of the university they want to apply to in order to avoid any lapses.
- Students applying for the CSC scholarship must first fill out an online application form (either in English or Chinese). With the CSC portal, students can apply to 3 universities.
- While filling out the application form students will be asked to choose the type of scholarship (A, B, or C) they want to apply to, which is categorized according to the amount of funding.
- Once the student fills out the details in the application form they then will have to attach the PDF of the required documents.
- After a candidate has completed the application form for the CSC scholarship, he/she must download it for future reference.
- Students then need to select Chinese universities and courses of their choice.
- They then need to check if the universities of their choice require another application form to be filled out along with the CSC scholarship form.
- If the university requires another form, then fill out this application form and attach the CSC scholarship form with it.
- Prepare the sets of documents and post them to the university address.
- The results of the scholarship will be available around mid-July.

- Remittance receipt of the application fee (RMB 400 yuan)
- Photocopy of passport
- Photocopies of language (Chinese or English) proficiency certificates.

- Zhejiang University Scholarship application form pasted with a recent photograph.
- Zhejiang University admission application form pasted with a recent photograph.
- A personal statement either in Chinese or in English language stating your study proposal, qualifications and work experience, and reasons for applying for the scholarship.
