Q. Students should opt for streams like Science or Commerce rather than Arts is a common notion. Do you agree or disagree with it? Support your answer with some examples.
Ans: I strongly disagree with the statement that students should opt for streams like Science and Commerce rather than Arts. Each stream is equally valuable and offers numerous career paths. To begin with, the stream of arts includes subjects such as political science, literature, home science, history, and many more. These fields promote innovativeness, analytical thinking, and a comprehensive perception of society.
For instance, a student whose strength is in literature develops analytical skills, while a history scholar understands the happenings of the past, strengthening research skills and the ability to synthesize information from various sources. Moreover, studying arts can lead to diverse career opportunities in fields such as visual arts, performing arts, design, education, media, entertainment, and arts administration. Therefore, students should choose a stream they are passionate about or that appeals to them, as opposed to what others may feel is ideal.
