Boston University (BU) offers two merit scholarships to international students. These are Trustee and Presidential Scholarships. The eligibility criteria for the scholarships vary. However. the recipients generally rank in the top 5% of their class and have demonstrated extracurricular achievements in their schools and communities. Moreover, these students have SAT scores above 1500 and ACT scores above 33. The scholarship benefit is tuition fee coverage. Another perk of the scholarships is that they do not have to be repaid. Trustee Scholarship
The Trustee Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships provided by BU. The scholarship is available to 20 outstanding students every year. Most of the scholarship beneficiaries have a perfect 4.0 GPA in high school and are ranked top of their class. The scholarship is available to students who have demonstrated academic excellence, and exceptional engagement in their schools and communities.
International students, US citizens and permanent residents are eligible. The benefit of the scholarship is full tuition and fee coverage. To receive the scholarship you must fill out a common application and submit an essay of 600 words. However, only undergraduate students can apply. The deadline for the award is 1 December 2024.
Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship is given to first-year international students, permanent residents, and US citizens. To be eligible, you must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. Additionally, you must excel l beyond the classroom and must be a leader in your school and community. The scholarship value is $25,000. Moreover, the scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years of undergraduate study.
Another perk of this scholarship is that there is no requirement to submit an additional essay or application form. Therefore, those who want the scholarship, must apply and supporting credentials by Dec 1, 2024.
