Study Abroad: Maha Govt is Offering Scholarships to Study Overseas under the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Pardesh Scholarship

The Government of Maharashtra Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance has launched scholarships for Indian students to study abroad for the academic year 2023-24. The scholarships are available to Scheduled Caste students who have already secured admission to universities abroad. However, these universities should come under the QS World Ranking List of the top 300 universities.

The Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Pardesh Scholarship Scheme aims to support 75 students from the SC and new Buddhist categories each year. Interested students can apply for the same before 20th June 2023.

Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Pardesh Scholarship: Eligibility 

The eligibility criteria for the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Pradesh Scholarship are as follows:

• Should be an Indian citizen belonging to the Scheduled Caste/New Buddist category
• Moreover, the student must be enrolled in an educational institution abroad for a Master’s/PhD programme 
• The university should come under the QS World Ranking list of the top 300 universities for Masters or PhD programmes.
• Additionally, the applicant must meet the age requirements. That is, the applicant should be below 35 years of age for the Master’s programme and below 40 years of age for the PhD Programme.
• Applicants who are pursuing MD and MS courses can apply for scholarships. (for medical courses).

The benefits of the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Pardesh Scholarship Scheme are as follows:

• The scholarship grant will also cover the tuition fees and the air travel expenses of the beneficiaries.
• Additionally, the beneficiaries would receive subsistence allowances. 
• The scholarship will also cover their incidental expenses.
