Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have made changes in the overall requirement of 6.0 bands in the IELTS Academic Test. The new policy removes the need for IELTS Academic test takers to score a minimum of 6.0 bands in all individual sections of the test.

The changes are applicable to students applying via Student Direct Stream (SDS) category for Canada study permits. The new policy will come into effect from August 10 2023.

Aim of Modifying IELTS Test Requirement
