Increase in Financial Proof
The Australian Government has stipulated an increase in the amount of funds in the bank account to obtain a student visa. International students are required to demonstrate an approximate amount of AUD$24,505 (US$15,943) which is about a 17% increase to that of the previous level.
Genuine Student Test (GST)
Interested students must now pass a Genuine Student Test (GST) introduced by the Australian Government as a part of the visa application process. This test is designed to assess whether the candidates intend to stay in Australia temporarily to study.

Score of English Language Test
The score of the IELTS Test for undergraduate English students has increased from 5.5 to 6 and for postgraduate programs from 6 to 6.5.
Ranking of Institutions
Candidates applying for group 1 institutes will be prioritised and that of groups 2 and 3 will take more time.
Adjustment of Post-Study Extension
In the middle of the year, Australia has reduced the duration of international graduates for the period for which they can stay for work purposes in the country. However, previously the duration was increased for master’s, undergraduate, and Ph.D. students.
