Describe an item of clothing that someone gave you.

Q- Describe an item of clothing that someone gave you.

Ans: I never realised the significance of apparel and clothing until lately, when my best friend Manasvi introduced me to an entirely different world of fashion. She taught me the value of dressing well in this day and age when first impressions are everything. She believes that there is no right or wrong way to dress. It totally depends on how well you carry yourself and whether your aesthetics are true to your character.

Fashion was never something I gave much thought to, thus I gradually became oblivious to the aesthetic component of my entire appearance. I didn’t realise how important it was until Manasvi pointed out how off-putting I looked in my attire as if I was in a state of discomfort. That, however, is not incorrect on her part, as I did feel a little out of touch when in groups. I was never comfortable or confident in whatever I wore until meeting Manasvi. Having said that, the oversized black t-shirt and cargo pants Manasvi gifted me truly represented my aesthetics and character, namely, laid back, comfy, and not too stringent or orthodox. In a way, my new outfit completed and complimented me. It became a part of my expression as well as a statement in and of itself. My best friend’s attire exuded confidence, pride, and a carefree attitude.

The best type of fashion or clothes, in my opinion, is something that actually portrays you as an individual. Previously, anything I wore did not reflect who I was, and as a result, it made me feel like an imposter trying to fit in. This is why it is critical to wear something that is authentic to oneself. Manasvi understands who I am and knows me well enough to present me with something that is genuine to my style, favouring comfort and convenience over style. As a result, the oversized T-shirt and comfortable cargo pants are ideal for me. It’s not garish or over-the-top, but rather delicate and understated in its aesthetics, which is what I like best about these pieces of clothing.

In essence, if Manasvi had not gifted me the clothing items, I would never have appreciated how vital it is to dress well and, more importantly, wear appropriately. I’ve learnt that fashion is more than simply what you wear; it’s a part of your personality that can be used to represent who you truly are. In this day and age, fashion may easily be viewed as a means of communicating with the rest of the world.
