Express Entry and PNP have been the two biggest economic immigration movers for new applicants for immigration to Canada. IRCC had noticed that with the Express Entry application process reaching more people around the globe, the pace of applications was creating anxiety among the people. To better the transparency of the procedure, IRCC has introduced application status trackers for Express Entry and PNP candidates. This would keep the applicants informed about the progress of their applications.

IRCC Application Queue

Canada is about to welcome 190,000 immigrants under Express Entry and PNP categories in 2023. While this is a huge number compared to the other years, this is an aim to better the economy of the country by repopulating the same. However, with the number of invites increasing, a whole lot of applications are in the process making it difficult for the immigrants to understand the reason for the delay. Data from IRCC says that 47,868 applicants in the category of Express entry and 66,214 in PNP have been in the queue since the 31st of January 2023.

Application Tracker And Digitalisation For Economic Immigration

IRCC launched its application status trackers for immigration to Canada just one year ago. However, they now are being expanded to four new categories in the Express Entry and PNPs. Express Entry categories are Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) candidates are also covered under the four categories.

Status trackers would improve transparency and indicate the wait times for the candidates applying for economic immigration to Canada. The candidates will have direct access to information. IRCC had already digitized the entire process for Citizenship. This time the organization is planning to digitize the Express Entry and PNP immigration as well.

International students in Canada can rest assured that they will be able to settle in Canada. Through Express Entry the country is set to invite over 230,000 immigrants under economic immigration in 2025.
