What is the Curtin Merit Scholarship?
The Curtin University Merit Scholarships are available to students who excel in academics or extracurricular activities. You can receive a merit-based scholarship irrespective of your financial circumstances. This means even if you are financially secure, you will receive a merit award if you qualify for it.

How Do You Qualify for the Curtin Excellence Scholarship?
The Curtin Excellence scholarships are available to undergraduate students who are Australian Permanent residents/Australian citizens, New Zealand residents or citizens or on a permanent humanitarian visa. The scholarships are available to applicants who demonstrate academic excellence and want to study at the university. To be eligible for this scholarship
- You must be an undergraduate student
- Must be an Australian citizen/Permanent resident, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or a person on a humanitarian visa
- You must be enrolled in any 1 of the eligible faculties. For example, the Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Business and Law, Faculty of Science & Engineering, Faculty of Humanities, etc
- Additionally, you must secure an ATAR between 96 – 96.99 or 97 or above
Those who secure an ATAR between 96 – 96.99 will receive a tuition fee benefit of $2,500 per study period for 1 year. On the other hand, those who have obtained an ATAR of 97 or more will receive a scholarship value of $15,000 (given as a cash stipend of $2,500 per study period for 3 years).
Can I get a 100 Percent Scholarship in Australia?
Definitely! You can get 100 per cent scholarships to study in Australia. For this, you can apply for the Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS). This is a merit-based scholarship given to International students. However, you must be from Africa, Asia, the Middle East or the Pacific to apply. The Australian Government is responsible for funding the AAS. The scholarship benefits are as follows:
- Cover your entire tuition fees
- Provide air travel tickets to and from Australia
- Moreover, you will receive an establishment allowance of AUD$5,000
- You will also receive a living allowance of AUD 30,000 per year.
- Moreover, you are required to attend the Introductory Academic Program (IAP) (4-6 weeks) to learn about the life and academic life in Australia
- You will also receive an overseas health cover that will cover your medical expenses
- The fees for the Pre-course English (PCE) fees (if applicable) will also be provided
- You will also get supplementary academic support for academic success.
- Fieldwork (for research students) airfare expenses will also be covered

How to Apply for Curtin University Scholarships?
Most of the Curtin University scholarships do not require any application. When the scholarship criteria state that you do not need to apply for the award. It means that the application process involves the following steps:
- First, apply to the selected course of study via Curtin Online. You can also choose to apply through any of the education agents of the University.
- Ensure that you meet the admission criteria, and the eligibility criteria for the scholarship
- During the application process, you may be requested to submit relevant documents. In such cases, you will have to submit the same to prove your eligibility.
- At this stage, your application will be processed. The admissions team will access your application and will issue you a supplementary letter.
- Moreover, an offer letter will be issued to you. The offer letter will consist of the outcome of your application.
On the other hand, if a separate application is required, you will have to apply for the scholarship, along with the relevant documents before the deadline.
