Hey Ajeet,

I am writing to tell you about the incredible ‘Inter-School Cultural Meet’ that happened recently at my school DPS RK Puram. It was such a vibrant and exciting event, and I had a fantastic time.

Students from over 35 schools across Delhi-NCR participated, showcasing their talents in various art forms. The event’s highlight for me was the stage play by our very own drama club. They re-enacted Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” under the theme “The Magical World of Shakespearean Comedies.”

Their performance was captivating! They brought the characters to life uniquely and humorously. We were left in splits. The way they used costumes, props, and even their voices to portray various characters was highly commendable. The applause they received at the end was truly well-deserved.

Apart from the play, there were also breathtaking dance and music performances by students from 35 schools. The entire atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and a sense of healthy competition.

Through my experience, I can assure you that you must also attend cultural events to experience different cultures, appreciate artistic talents, and create lasting memories. Anyway, I just wanted to share this amazing experience with you.

Talk to see you soon!
Love and Hugs,
Jyotika

Dearest Maushami,

Today, I am writing to you with excitement about an incredible cultural experience I recently had the privilege of attending: the Jashn-e-Rekhta festival in New Delhi. It is an annual three-day event that was held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium this year. It was a vibrant celebration of the multifaceted beauty of the Urdu language and its diverse art forms.

The festival kicked off with a mesmerising performance by the power couple, Rekha and Vishal Bhardwaj, alongside the legendary poet Javed Akhtar. Their combined talent set the one for the entire event.

I was also captivated by the soulful violin melodies of Ustad Ashgar Hussain and his troupe. Their music carried a spiritual essence that shook my soul. Additionally, the open house of Urdu poetry provided a platform for renowned poets like Suhail Akhtar, Gauhar Raza, Anwar Pasha, and Najma Rehmani to share their works. Each of their verses resonated with emotions and imagery.

The festival provided an intellectual feast as well, with a stimulating discussion on the relevance and vibrancy of Urdu in the contemporary world. Led by Naghma Sahar, Swanand Kirkire, and Varun Grover, the discussion offered diverse perspectives on the language and its role in shaping our cultural landscape.

The evenings were filled with the sweet sounds of Qawwali music, with the renowned Sabri Brothers transporting us all to a realm of spiritual devotion. To top it all off, the Indian Ocean Band delivered a captivating performance, blending their unique sound with the essence of Urdu poetry.
Jashn-e-Rekhta was more than just a festival; it was a celebration of cultural heritage, linguistic beauty, and artistic expression. It left me awestruck with the richness of Urdu and the diverse ways it can be explored and experienced. I truly wish you could have been there!

Let’s plan to enjoy the Jashn-e-Rekhta 2024 together!!

Until then, Take care!
Love,
Kanak
