Dear Aunt Meena,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to tell you about my recent adventure in the forest hills of Mussoorie.

Last weekend, my school arranged a trekking trip to Jabarkhet Nature Reserve. We were 20 students and 3 teachers. We started early at 7:00 AM and walked for almost 5 kilometers. We saw tall oak and deodar trees, monkeys jumping on branches, and even some colorful Himalayan birds like the verditer flycatcher and rufous sibia.

The path was steep and rocky, but we helped each other and had fun. We even filled our bottles from a fresh mountain spring. I learned that trekking helps us stay fit and enjoy nature closely. The forest was quiet and peaceful.

I wish you could join us next time. Please take care and write back soon.

Yours lovingly,
Rahul

Dear Aunt Renu,

How are you and Uncle doing? I’m very happy to write to you about an amazing adventure I had during our trip to Jaisalmer, the Golden City of Rajasthan.

We went on a camel safari in the Thar Desert, which is the largest desert in India. Our guide told us it covers about 2,00,000 square kilometers. My camel’s name was Raju, and he was tall and calm. Camels are called the “ships of the desert” because they walk easily on sand. Did you know a camel can drink up to 40 litres of water at once?

We started our safari in the evening when the heat was less. The sand dunes were huge, and the wind made the sand dance. As the sun set, the whole desert turned golden orange—it was like a painting. We also visited the Sam Sand Dunes, where many tourists come every year.

At night, we stayed in a tent. There was Rajasthani folk music, Kalbelia dance, and even puppet shows. I also tasted dal baati churma, a famous desert dish. I learned that people in the desert wear turbans and long clothes to protect themselves from the heat and sand.

This was a wonderful learning trip. I hope you visit us soon so we can go together next time.

With lots of love,
Sneha

Dear Aunt Seema,

Namaste! I hope you are doing well. I want to share with you my exciting adventure of river rafting in Rishikesh last weekend. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

Rishikesh is known as the Yoga Capital of the World, but it’s also very famous for river rafting. The rafting happens on the Ganga River, which flows fast through the mountains. We took a 10-kilometer rafting trip from Brahmapuri to Ram Jhula, which is a beginner-friendly route.

Before starting, our guide gave us safety instructions and equipment like helmets, oars, and life jackets. The water was very cold and fresh. We went through rapids with names like Sweet Sixteen, Body Surfing, and Double Trouble. Rapids are fast-moving parts of the river that make the ride bumpy and fun.

I also learned that rafting is only allowed for children above 12 years old and should always be done with expert guides. We even jumped into the river at a calm spot to swim. It was clean and felt very peaceful.

After rafting, we went to the Ganga ghat for the Ganga Aarti, which was so beautiful and full of devotion. I now understand why people from all over the world come here.

It was a real adventure mixed with fun, nature, and learning. I hope I can take you there one day.

Yours lovingly,
Aman
