“Geography Lesson” by Zulfikar Ghose explores the perspectives gained from different altitudes. The poem begins with a jet taking off and describes how viewing the city from above feels like. When scaled at six inches to the mile, the view reveals an unseen order. As the jet reaches ten thousand feet, one can view the logical placement of cities near rivers and the population of valleys due to the attraction of land and water.
