IGNOU Registration: The Indira Gandhi National Open University will soon start accepting applications for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The registration form will soon be released on the official website of the university.

The IGNOU registration form contains two options: Fresh Admission (Online) and Fresh Admission (Distance). To fill out the IGNOU registration form, candidates are required to create a personal ID and password at the website with IGNOU’s Online Admission System (OAS). Candidates planning to pursue their higher education at IGNOU must keep themselves updated about all the important dates related to the registration and admission process. The last date to fill out the IGNOU registration form is 30 September 2023. The table below highlights all the IGNOU registration form dates.

IGNOU Registration Process 2024

The IGNOU registration process starts by registering online on the official student portal of the IGNOU. Once the form is filled out, students are required to pay the applicable fees and program fees to continue with the process. After this, the officials of IGNOU will check your documents for verification, the result of which can either be accepted or rejected. If rejected, then the program fee paid by the student will be refunded. For students whose applications are accepted, their admission will be confirmed via an email from IGNOU. In case of any discrepancy, students will be notified after which they need to fulfil the requirements.

How to Fill Out IGNOU Registration Form?

Interested candidates are required to submit the IGNOU registration form online with other details such as the name of the program, regional centre and study centre where they want to study. Applicants can fill out the IGNOU registration form by following the instructions given below.

  • Go to the official website of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) at http://www.ignou.ac.in/.
  • Under the dashboard, look for the ‘Register Online’ option.
  • Applicants will have to choose either the fresh admission (Distance) or fresh admission (Online) option.
  • After this, the registration form will appear on your screen.
  • Candidates must fill out all the details required in the registration form carefully.
  • Choose a registration ID and password and enter the captcha code written on the screen.
  • Once you’ve entered all the information, you’ll receive a confirmation email regarding your registration status.
  • After this candidates can log in on the IGNOU website using their ID and password and complete the registration process.

Once the IGNOU registration process is complete, students can download their ID cards, which are generated by the officials of IGNOU. 

Documents Required

While filling out the registration form, candidates are required to upload scanned copies of their documents. These documents work as proof of the candidate’s eligibility and identity. The documents required in the IGNOU application form are listed below.

  • Latest passport-size photograph (not older than 3 months)
  • Matriculation certificate (10th Class)
  • Intermediate certificate (10+2 Class)
  • Experience certificate (if any)
  • Government-issued photo ID card
  • Scanned signature
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • BPL certificate (if applicable)

IGNOU has been recognised with the NAAC A++ accreditations, making the degrees equivalent to regular universities in India. Candidates after completing their degrees from IGNOU can apply for admission anywhere abroad and in India.
