UPESMET FAQs 2023

A– The UPESMAT stands for the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Management Entrance Test is an examination conducted to invite admission for UPES management courses.

A- The examination of UPESMAT is conducted by UPES, Dehradun in a multiple cyclic order in a year. The examination is conducted under the supervision of the University Grants Commission (UGC). 

A- Yes, you can apply for direct admission at UPES without appearing for the written test, after submitting your CAT score for 2022/23. However, candidates need to undergo the Group Discussion and  Personal Interview round of the UPES selection process.

A- The examination of UPESMET is going to take place between April  28th to 30th 2023.

A– The last date to register for the UPESMET 2023 is April 25th 2023.  

The UPESMET syllabus comprises important topics from four subjects which are, General Awareness, English, Analytical and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. Candidates must note that the topics will be covering objective-based quantitative questions from class 9th to 12th mathematics.  
While for the Analytical section, candidates need to cover sections of reasoning, statements, and others, along with preparing for General English and comprehension topics. 

A- To be well prepared for the UPESMET 2023 examination, candidates must follow these simple tips with precision before appearing for the written test:
First and foremost, candidates should be well familiar with the UPESMET syllabus and exam pattern to understand the nature and difficulty of the examination.
Then it is recommended to prepare a timetable in a way that the UPESMET syllabus is covered at least three to four weeks before the exam date.
Candidates should refer to the best UPESMET preparation books and study material to cover the whole syllabus in time and accuracy. 
UPES also conducts UPESMET demo tests that can be taken by applicants before the examination. However, candidates can also choose to practice with the previous year’s papers or before going to undertake the UPESMET mock test.

A- The examination of UPESMET is conducted conveniently in an online mode. Candidates would be required to appear for the test between 10 AM to 2 PM within the designated date in the online mode of examination.

A- The exam pattern of UPESMET as per the university requires candidates to appear for a 2 hours long online based examination. The question paper comprises objective-based multiple choices questions from English, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Knowledge. 

A- The marking scheme of UPESMET 2023 allows candidates to gain 1 positive mark for each correct answer. All the sections of the UPESMET question paper bear equal weightage, summing up to 140 marks in total. 

A- There is no negative marking in the UPESMET 2023 examination.
