OTET Selection Process 2023
The Odisha Teaching Eligibility Test selection process starts with the written exam, which is conducted in offline mode for all the candidates. The OTET exam is divided into two papers, where questions were set to measure candidates’ knowledge and skills to analyze, interpret and answer the subject matter. The OTET selection process 2023 was divided into three stages;
- Written Exam (Paper I and Paper II)
- Interview
- Document Verification
Written Exam
The OTET 2023 written exam was held on 1st July 2023 by the BSE, Odisha. The OTET answer key was released on 8th July 2023. The exam was divided into two papers: Paper I and Paper II, where both papers consisted of 150 objective questions.
Paper I was for candidates who wanted to appear for the position of Primary teacher, and Paper II was for Elementary teacher. The duration of the exam was 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes) for each paper. Candidates who possessed the eligibility for both papers were allowed to appear for both these papers.

Interview
Candidates who score passing marks in the written exam are called for interview rounds. The interview rounds are conducted in offline mode at designated centres. Candidates need to appear for the interview at the specified time and date.
The interview rounds are conducted by a panel of officials of the BSE, Odisha, where some professional questions are asked of the candidates. The objective of conducting the interviews is to understand the candidate’s overall knowledge and level of interest in the examination process.
Document Verification
After the interview rounds are over, all the selected candidates are required to submit their necessary documents. These documents serve as proof of candidates’ eligibility for the position offered via the OTET examination. The documents required are:
- Intermediate certificate (12th class)
- Matriculation certificate (10th class)
- OTET Result sheet
- Government-issued ID card
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Candidate’s latest passport-size photograph
