Is 12th marks important for XLRI: Xavier School of Management also popularly known as XLRI is a well-renowned institution which offers students several courses to study. Does 12th Marks Matter in XLRI? 

The student must get decent marks in their Class 12th. However, if you have not scored well then here’s the good news. 12th marks are not that important and won’t create any hindrance to your admission to XLRI.

• XAT/GMAT score: This is the single most important factor in determining your chances of getting into XLRI. A high score in the entrance exam is essential for getting shortlisted for the next round.
• Work experience: XLRI values work experience and prefers candidates with at least 2 years of experience. However, freshers with outstanding academic records and other strong points can also get a chance.
• Extracurricular activities and achievements: Your involvement in extracurricular activities and your achievements in various fields can give you an edge over other candidates.
• Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) performance: Your performance in the GD and PI rounds will be assessed for your communication skills, leadership qualities, and overall personality.

So, while good 12th marks can certainly strengthen your application, they are not the only factor that matters. If you have a strong overall profile, you can still get into XLRI even if your 12th marks are not very high.

XLRI Eligibility Criteria 2024

Before the candidate applies for admission to XLRI, they need to cross-check if they are eligible for the same. Here are the eligibility criteria for admission to this institute.

To get admission in PGDM in Human Resource Management Programme & Business Management Programme:

• The candidate must have passed class 12 from a recognized board.
• He/She must have a three-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution

To get admission to XLRI PGDM in General Management Programme, the candidate must have:

• The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree of three years from a recognized institution
• Secondly, he/she must have 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience

Here are some additional tips for increasing your chances of getting into XLRI:

• Aim for a high score in the XAT/GMAT exam.
• Get some work experience, if possible.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and try to develop leadership skills.
• Practice for the GD and PI rounds.
