The University of Wales Trinity Saint David in its present form, was formed in 2010 following a merger between the University of Wales Lampeter and Trinity University College Carmarthen and in 2013, with Swansea Metropolitan University. The University's Royal Charter is the oldest in Wales and in England after those of the universities of Oxford and Cambridge respectively. Producing employable graduates through its excellent academic programs, ranging from entry-level to postdoctoral options, the University is a globally connected institution with partners institutions and collaborators across the UK and the world. UWTSD is academically affiliated with the University of Wales, Universities UK, and the Cathedrals Group. In the Guardian League Table 2022, UWTSD is placed at #74, while the Complete University Guide ranks the University at #103 among UK Universities

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

UWTSD has 3 campus locations across South West Wales - Carmarthen, Lampeter and Swansea - along with campuses in Birmingham and London and learning centers in Cardiff. While the Carmarthen Campus is a historic, heritage site that formerly belonged to the Trinity Family, the Swansea Campus is a modern infrastructure that offers innovative, industry-led, and career-driven programs. Campuses are London and Birmingham are situated in the midst of the cities' vibrant locations - the Kennington Business Park and the Sparkhill respectively. The University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral level programs across 38 academic disciplines including, Humanities, Architecture, Engineering, Business, Tourism and Hospitality, Media, Performing Arts, and Education. Additionally, the University offers online, distance, and part-time courses to facilitate flexible learning for working professionals and personal development of students. Also, there are fast-track courses that allow students to gain a qualification in 12 months or less. 

Accomplishments and Alumni

Over the decades, UWTSD has established itself among the renowned top universities of the UK. 10 subjects taught at the University rank #1 in Wales, while 4 of them rank among the top 10 in the UK. According to the Research Excellence Framework 2014, 60% of UWTSD's research work was recognized as "outstanding" or "considerable in terms of its reach and significance," highlighting the strength of the University's research work. Further, the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey places UWTSD at #7 in the UK for Academic Experience. 94% of UWTSD's graduates were in further education or employed full-time within 15 months of graduation according to the Graduate Outcomes survey. The University also has a list of distinguished alumni members. Some of the notable names are - Dewi Bebb (Rugby Player), Juliette Foster (Journalist and TV News Presenter) and Barry John (Rugby Player).

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David has a student population of nearly 25,000 students who are currently pursuing Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Foundation courses. A significant portion among these are international students who attend the University from all across the globe. The university also provides placement services to its students along with career advice, mentorship and work experience opportunities.
