About the University

History, Affiliations and Rankings

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David in its present form, was formed in 2010 following a merger between the University of Wales Lampeter and Trinity University College Carmarthen and in 2013, with Swansea Metropolitan University. The University's Royal Charter is the oldest in Wales and in England after those of the universities of Oxford and Cambridge respectively. Producing employable graduates through its excellent academic programs, ranging from entry-level to postdoctoral options, the University is a globally connected institution with partners institutions and collaborators across the UK and the world. UWTSD is academically affiliated with the University of Wales, Universities UK, and the Cathedrals Group. In the Guardian League Table 2022, UWTSD is placed at #74, while the Complete University Guide ranks the University at #103 among UK Universities.
