The University of Sussex is a public research university that received its royal charter in the year 1959. University of Sussex is known to be one of the first United Kingdom universities which earned its Royal Charter in the year 1961. At the undergraduate level, the university has been accredited by the Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA), CIMA logo, and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), while at the postgraduate level, the university has received accreditation from AMBA which is the global standard for MBA programs. It stands for the highest achievement in postgraduate business. University of Sussex is ranked #163 in Best Global Universities by US News and World Report 2022 and According to the  QS World Rankings 2022, Sussex is now ranked 226th. 

Infrastructure, Campus and Courses

The University of Sussex has one of the most picturesque campuses in the United Kingdom. The campus, which is set in rolling parkland on the outskirts of Brighton, mixes award-winning architecture with green open spaces. The buildings that make up the heart of the campus, designed by Sir Basil Spence, were designated as listed buildings in 1993. Furthermore, Falmer House is one of only two educational buildings in the United Kingdom to be Grade I-listed for its outstanding interest. It has a huge campus that is surrounded by South downs national park. It has diversity in students and staff. The campus is filled with every amenity from cafes to post offices, supermarkets, banks & health care facilities. The University of Sussex also provides a chance for students to study abroad/ internship abroad for a year. There are nine on-campus accommodation buildings and one off-campus. The most sought-after majors at University include biology and biological sciences, humanities and humanistic studies, finance, registered nursing, international relations and affairs, Business, Management, Marketing, health professions, social sciences,  Accounting, Education, Engineering and Information Technology, etc.

A very high percentage of Sussex students from all backgrounds complete their course and go on to highly skilled employment or further study, earning Sussex a Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) silver award for the caliber of its instruction. The university has also received special praise for its outstanding employment strategy and excellent student success rate. The university has maintained its image as a top university in the UK due to its accomplishments. Primarily known for its Social Science and Humanities departments, this university offers continual engagement in community services. The university also has a list of distinguished alumni members. Some of the notable names are Hilary Benn, Labour Party Member of Parliament; Festus Mogae, President of Botswana; Thabo Mbeki, President of South Africa.
