Founded in 1910, the University of Southern Mississippi, which is based in Mississippi, is committed to offering a broad learning environment to students pursuing a variety of undergraduate and graduate programmes. Since its founding in 1910, the University of Southern Mississippi has accepted students from all around the world. Hattiesburg Campus and Gulf Park Campus are two of the university's campuses. The institution has housing options on a 300-acre site, including The Sorority Village, which can house 294 students, and eight residential halls. More than 220 student organisations and the extensive study abroad programmes are available to the students. The institution provides undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as an online learning alternative, to students from across the world. The institute has five schools that provide a total of 189 programmes, including bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees. The University of Southern Mississippi's online programmes provide students with a convenient and adaptable learning environment that enables them to pursue their academic goals. The University of Southern Mississippi is one of only 146 universities in the United States to be accorded the Carnegie R1 research institution status and is one of the nation's leading research universities. Their research enterprise includes experts in Ocean Science and Engineering, Polymer Science and Engineering, and Sport Venue Safety and Security, among others. A few notable alumni of the University include, Justin Keys - marketing executive for Parker + Young; Miya Bates – a senior editor at Matthew Cutrer and Lindsay in Ridgeland.
