Q: What GPA do you need to get into Suffolk University?

A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is required for admission. For entering transfers, the average GPA is 3.0. Official college transcripts from all schools or universities attended must be submitted in order to be considered for admission.

About the University

History, Affiliations and Rankings

Gleason Archer, the founder of Suffolk University, made it his life's ambition to provide access to higher education to all capable students, beginning with evening Law sessions. Gleason Archer began giving law lectures in his Roxbury home's living room in 1906. He relocated the renamed Suffolk School of Law to Downtown Boston a year later. In 1909, the university issued diplomas for the first graduating class of the First Law School. The cornerstone for the Archer building on Beacon Hill was laid in 1920 by Massachusetts governor and subsequently president Calvin Coolidge. The University and its entities are accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The University is also associated with The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), American Bar Association (ABA), Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), the International Association of Counselling Services (IACS) and many more organizations.
