Established in 1981, Shantou University (STU), is financed by the Ministry of Education of the Guangdong Provincial Government and the Li Ka Shing Foundation. At present, Shantou University hosts over 10,000 students and the faculty staff comprises of nearly 1,533 professors and lecturers from across the globe. The university also offers a vibrant environment where students and researchers can learn, innovate, and build careers that have an enduring effect on society. Moreover, Shantou university is home to 10 colleges and schools namely, College of Liberal Arts Law School Business School Cheung Kong School of Art and Design College of Engineering College of Graduate Studies College of Sciences Medical College and School of Continuing Education Cheung Kong School of Journalism and Communication Presently, the university offers a vast range of masters, doctoral and postdoctoral programs in a wide range of specialised fields of Arts, Commerce and Science. Further, Shantou University also offers Cheung Kong Scholar Professorships and the campus has digital classrooms, a library, a national key laboratory along with provincial key laboratories.
