The Oklahoma Christian University was established initially as a two-year college, in the year 1950. It was eventually accredited and then expanded into a university in the year 1990. The university in the present day exists as a traditional christian private college of liberal arts which is affiliated by the Churches of Christ. It is situated in the state capital of Oklahoma, i.e. Oklahoma city. The campus is spread across a 200 acre land and provides housing facilities to the students. The university houses 5 academic colleges and the degree programs are arranged accordingly. The colleges include:
- College of Natural and Health Sciences
- College of Liberal Arts
- College of Engineering and Computer Science
- College of Biblical Studies
- College of Business Administration
The university offers about 20 undergraduate degrees along with a number of postgraduate and doctoral degrees in around 80 fields of study. The university offers different social service clubs that are Christian-oriented. It is also a member of the 115-school Council for Christian universities and colleges along with 3 engineering programs of ABET national accreditation. It was ranked at the 19th position for Veterans list and 34th position in the Regional Universities West by the US News and Reports.
