History, Affiliations and Rankings
Northwest Missouri State University was founded in 1905 and was previously a teacher’s college, the campus design is based upon the Forest Park and is the official Missouri State botanical Garden. The college is administered by the state elected Board of Regents and led by President John Jasinski. The University has an affiliation with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Division II) and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association for men's and women's sports. The Northwest Missouri University ranks #600 in US College Rankings 2022 by Times Higher Education and #31 in Top Public schools by the US News & World Report.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
There are numerous faculties at the Northwest Missouri Northwest University which includes Health Sciences & Wellness, Business, Fine & Performing Arts, Agricultural Sciences, Education, Natural Sciences, Computer Science & Information Systems, Mathematics & Statistics, Communication & Mass Media, Language, Literature and Writing and Humanities and Social Sciences. There are hi-tech labs, libraries, studios, IT laboratories, and halls at the campus. The university offers laptops to full-time students for their full coursework. Further, book rental services are provided to students. Besides the theory knowledge, Northwest Missouri State University has a centre of focus on the experimental education of students. Northwest Missouri State University has received the Missouri Quality award four times, 1997, 2001, 2005, and 2008. The Missouri Quality Award is among the most prestigious state-level quality award program in the country and is the official state acknowledgement for excellence in leadership. The Missouri Quality Award program provides a rigorous and objective academic procedure by which an association can train and apply quality practical skills and evaluation methods. The notable alumni of the university are Jason R. Brown – Republican leader in the Missouri House of Representatives, Pat Danner – former U.S. representative from Missouri and Steve King – U.S. representative from Iowa's 4th congressional district.

Northwest Missouri State University values diversity in all its dimensions. Institute has more than 7,800 student enrolments out of which about 5,300 are undergraduates and 2,500 are postgraduates with more than 290 faculty members on its premises. Of the total student enrolments, more than 435 students are international students on the campus. The Male to female ratio is 41:69 at Northwest Missouri State University making it a fairly gender-balanced university.
