Northern Michigan University is funded by the government of the United States and is located in the northernmost part of the Michigan State of the United States of America. Established in the year 1899, it boasts of total student enrollment of 7,595 with undergraduate enrollment accounting for around 7,000 places across its 145 undergraduate programs and 25 graduate programs. Students from countries such as Costa Rica, China, Australia, India, Morocco, Spain and many more enroll at the university every year. Popular areas of study include marketing, management, health sciences, biomedical science, visual and performing arts, natural resource conservation and a host of other subjects. Further, three-fourth of its 300-strong full time faculty list have the highest degree in their respective fields. Northern Michigan University is said to be the largest university of the northern peninsula of the United States of America. Some of the names amongst its noteworthy alumni include CEO of Starbucks, Howard Shultz, architect John Lautner and snowboarder Nick Baumgartner.
