Leeds Beckett University, established in 1824, was first named Leeds Polytechnic and then known as Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU). The public university was established in Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. In 1992, the university received its right to award its own degrees. LBU started its student and faculty exchange program in 2009 in partnership with the University of North Florida. The current name of the university was adopted in September 2014. Many of the university's courses have been accredited by leading professional bodies, ensuring that they provide the latest industry knowledge and training. QS World University Rankings 2022 places the university between #1001-1200, whereas Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 places the university between #801-1000.
