Situated at the birthplace of the world’s cherished KFC, the Kentucky State University was founded in 1886 and is one of the oldest American universities blessed with a rich heritage of over 133 years. Offering over 65 academic programs ranging from undergraduate, postgraduate and associate degrees, KSU is one of the most sought-after universities in the state of Kentucky. KSU has divided the academic programs based on the various disciplines into five colleges, namely, College of Agriculture, Food Science and Sustainable systems, College of Professional Studies,, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business and Computer Science. KSU also is home to the Paul G Blazer Library which houses more than 700,000 materials inclusive of books in physical and digital format. The university has its own on-campus residential facilities which includes five residential halls. KSU is mainly recognized for its pioneering work in the field of Pawpaw research. Pawpaw is a fruit native to the US and it belongs to the Custard Apple Family. KSU boasts of more than 1,500 Pawpaw trees planted in the campus and is striving to become a greener and energy-efficient in the future.
