History, Affiliations and Rankings
IE Business School was established in 1973 as Instituto de Empresa. It was in 2009 that it became a part of IE University. IE Business School was founded by three entrepreneurs in 1973. It was established with the goal of fostering an entrepreneurial environment. In 2010, IE Business School opened the groundbreaking Area 31, a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. And in 2021, the vertical, technological and sustainable campus, the IE Tower was opened by the school.
This school has collaborations such as the IE Brown Executive MBA which is a dual MBA with Brown University. The IE Business School has been ranked #5 by the QS World Rankings 2021 - IE Brown Executive MBA.
Campus, Courses and Infrastructure
IE Business School is located in Barrio de Salamanca and the campus currently occupies a total surface area of some 28,000 m2. The campus has 17 buildings along and near Calle Maria de Molina. In addition to the existing IE Business school campus, IE University's new campus, known as “Campus IE” is located in the north of Madrid. The new campus is reportedly going to host 6,000 students.
IE Business School provides degrees at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It exclusively runs BBA, MBA, Executive MBA, Master’s Degree Program in Finance and Management and PhD and DBA Programs. It is the first higher education institute to continuously create, modify and shape new programs based on trends and current needs in the working world. The institution offers degrees in various subject areas of business, finance and administration. The courses are developed in such a manner that instils transferable skills which are useful for study or employment in the future. The institution proves to be different by believing that higher education should allow individuals to develop new ways of making a positive impact in the world
