Located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Eastern Michigan University is a publicly funded research university. The fourth American normal school to be founded outside of New England was founded as the Michigan State Normal School in 1849. The first normal school in the US to implement a four-year curriculum was the Michigan State Normal School in 1899. Eastern Michigan University was the designation given to the normal school when it legally converted to a university in 1959.EMU started as Michigan State Normal School and the first course offered was the ‘Constitution of the United States. US News places the university at #299-391 in National Universities. 

Infrastructure, Campus and Courses

The University is spread over 800 acres and has 122 buildings at the university campus. The campus boasts smart classrooms, advanced laboratories, computer and IT labs, libraries and seminar halls. There are state-of-the-art facilities for various sports, including football, golf, baseball, tennis, volleyball, cross country, swimming and diving, basketball, track and field, rowing and gymnastics. The 4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars is an exciting opportunity to successfully complete your degree in four years while maintaining financial stability. Students pay the tuition fee for the first two years, and for the last two years the fee is paid by Eastern Michigan University.

  • The employer must ensure that the employment should not displace (take a job away from) a US resident.

  • F1 students are permitted to work in the United States, but only under specified circumstances and in compliance with the US Citizenship and Immigration Service's complicated standards and restrictions (USCIS).

  • Many US colleges need approval from the International Student Office before taking any on-campus job, and such employment may not be permitted during a student's first semester or year.

Types of Part-Time Jobs in the USA
