Located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Eastern Michigan University is a publicly funded research university. The fourth American normal school to be founded outside of New England was founded as the Michigan State Normal School in 1849. The first normal school in the US to implement a four-year curriculum was the Michigan State Normal School in 1899. Eastern Michigan University was the designation given to the normal school when it legally converted to a university in 1959.EMU started as Michigan State Normal School and the first course offered was the ‘Constitution of the United States. US News places the university at #299-391 in National Universities.

Scholarships
The 4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars is an exciting opportunity to successfully complete your degree in four years while maintaining financial stability. Students pay the tuition fee for the first two years, and for the last two years the fee is paid by Eastern Michigan University.
Eligibility
Admitted international students with a 2.75+ cumulative GPA will have the opportunity to opt into the 4WARD Graduation Scholarship
Applicability
