History, Affiliations and Rankings 

Cranfield University was established in 1946 as the College of Aeronautics. During the 1950s and 1960s, it saw a lot of development in the fields of aircraft and design. It was in 1993 that the university got its name - ‘Cranfield University'. In the years that followed, the university gained immense recognition and appreciation. The university has now partnered with Defence Academy UK. The university had academic affiliations with top organisations like ACU, PEGASUS, EQUIS, Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Association of MBAs (AMBA), M5 Universities and the Universities UK. University of Cranfield rankings include Global Universities Rankings released by US News & World Report 2022 and has been ranked #717 in Global Universities Rankings. Furthermore, the university has also been ranked between #801-900 by the Shanghai University Rankings of 2021. The MBA programme offered by Cranfield University is one of the top choices among students as the MBA Subject Rankings released by QS 2021 place Cranfield’s Global MBA at #79th position.

Campus, Courses and Infrastructure

Cranfield University has two campuses - Cranfield and the other in Shrivenham. The campus promotes active student participation wherein students get to bond and help each other out. Accomplishments & Alumni 

The university welcomes students from all across the globe. As of 2020, the university reportedly had 54% of students from the UK,16% from other EU countries and around 30% from outside Europe. The university is also a six-time winner of the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Further and Higher Education. In 2017, Times Higher Education placed it first in the UK for research income per academic, placing it in the top 10 UK universities for commercial research, consultancy, and professional development. This university also has an extensive list of notable alumni with immense recognition in their respective fields. Cranfield University is also a part of UKCRIC, a countrywide consortium of fourteen universities dedicated to advancing knowledge of critical infrastructure systems and their role in ensuring urban resilience. UKCRIC is one of the greatest collaborative research capital investments in the UK, outside of national security and medicine, with £138 million from the UK government and significant additional investment from the institutions themselves. It has an alumni base of 60,000+ members. Some of the other notable names include -Prime Minister of Jordan Nader Al-Dahabi, Former CEO of Royal Jordanian airlines Samer Majali.
