The Black Hills State University (BHSU) is a public university spread on a sprawling 123-acre campus in the city of Spearfish, South Dakota. Founded in the year 1883, the university is now home to more than 4,000 students. BHSU offers an array of undergraduate, graduate, and associate degree programs across various disciplines. These programs are spread across 3 colleges namely, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Business and Natural Sciences, and the College of Education and Behavioural Sciences. Some of these programs have also been accredited by agencies like the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business(AACSB), National Association of Schools and Music, and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. Apart from academics, the university offers more than 80 clubs, wellness centers, recreational activities, and student services to its students. BHSUs athletic teams are NCAA Division II classified and are members of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
