The University of Phoenix College of Doctoral Studies has released a special edition of its quarterly periodical. The periodical also known as ‘Phoenix Scholar ‘ started by the University in 2017. Further, the aim was to highlight University of Phoenix faculty, alumni, and student’s commitment towards leading research through evidence based practice.
Also the special edition would explore the current issues with online education and the approaches related to learning, curriculum, teaching, and skill development for the adult learners.
According to Hinrich Eylers, Ph.D, P.E, Vice Provost of the College of Doctoral studies. The last 3 years have completely transformed the way we deliver education. The demand for online education is growing. Hence, there is a need to understand the experiences of adult online learners.
Phoenix Scholar Special Edition Goals
- The special edition would provide innovative and timely research on digital learning education. It will also ask important questions regarding improvising online education.
- The Phoenix Scholar would serve as a scholarly platform to communicate the research and findings of the University of Phoenix research endeavours.
- The research would help to offer solutions in leadership, workplace diversity, and instructional technology areas
According to Mansureh Kebritchi, Ph.d, research chair for the CEITR. The following concerns of online education were taken up by the authors.
- Role of A.I to increase the cultural sensitivities in higher education
- Distance education and its role in enhancing the accessibility of higher education for adult learner
- Importance of career relevant skills for the adult learners
- Soft skills that are in demand for remote workers, and upskilling.
Moreover, the quarterly periodical special edition would explore the key issues concerning online education and the approaches taken towards it. International students can make use of the special edition to gain more knowledge. About online education, its impact, and the skills that are needed to grow in their career.
