University of Derby Scholarships

Teaming up with the British Council and the GREAT British Campaign, GREAT scholarship initiative provides eligible students with financial assistance amounting to £11,000 for their one-year postgraduate studies at the University of Derby, as part of our September 2023 intake.

Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship 

The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship awards full tuition fees for an entire academic year to a select group of qualifying undergraduate and postgraduate students.

To be eligible, students must attain outstanding academic performance surpassing the course’s entry requirements. Additionally, they should showcase exceptional accomplishments in extracurricular activities, whether pursued independently or through employment over the past two years, which should be highlighted in their personal statement.

International Excellent Student Scholarship 

A £5,000 scholarship is available to a limited number of qualified international undergraduate and postgraduate students from specified countries who exhibit exceptional merit in their applications.

  • South East Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore)
  • China (including Hong Kong)
  • South Asia (India, Pakistan)
  • Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe)
  • Europe (Norway, Switzerland)

For students not from the listed countries, the University reserves the right to consider them for the scholarship on a case-by-case basis.

To qualify, applicants must surpass the course’s entry requirements with outstanding academic performance. Additionally, they should demonstrate excellence in extracurricular activities, whether pursued independently or through employment over the past two years, and highlight this in their personal statement.
