To start, our past errors tend to leave a lasting emotional impact, which serves as a powerful deterrent against repeating them. The negative emotions associated with these mistakes motivate us to take deliberate actions to prevent their recurrence. For example, I vividly recall a regrettable incident from last year when, on the day before a crucial science midterm, I spent the entire day playing video games. Unsurprisingly, I performed poorly on the test, and the resulting feelings of disappointment were overwhelming. However, this experience taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of diligent preparation for exams. Consequently, during the following exam season, I committed to focused studying and, as a result, gained a wealth of knowledge.
