Study in UK: University of Sheffield Launches Computer Science Excellence Scholarship for the Academic Year 2024-25

The University of Sheffield has introduced a computer science excellence scholarship for 2024-25. The scholarship award is an amount of  £2,000 towards the tuition fees, International applicants with an overseas fee-paying status enrolling for September 2024 are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarships are available for students to study in the computer science department at the University. No application is necessary for this scholarship. Those who meet the eligibility criteria are automatically granted the scholarship when they commence their studies in the Department in October 2024. 

Computer Science Excellence Scholarship 2024 Eligibility 

The eligibility requirements for the Computer Science Excellence Scholarship 2024 are as follows: 

• The applicant must attain a grade of  A*A*A (or above) or an equivalent. Additionally, the student must attain an A* in Mathematics.
• The student must make the University of Sheffield their first choice in the UCAS application 2024 (September entry)
• Moreover, the student must apply for an undergraduate degree program at the  Department of Computer Science. (full-time)
• Additionally, the applicant must be classified as an overseas fee-paying student 
• The applicant must also be taking all the prerequisite subjects for the chosen program 

Computer Science Excellence Scholarship 2024 Benefits 

The computer science excellence scholarship benefits an amount of  £2,000. However, the exact amount given to the student will depend on the student’s academic achievement and qualifications (A levels). That is, 

• A student with an A*A*A grade, and a Mathematics A* grade can receive £1,000
• Similarly, a student with A*A*A* grade and a  Mathematics A* grade can receive £2,000 

The beneficiaries will receive an amount of  £1,000 each subsequent academic year. However, to obtain this the student must maintain a minimum grade of 70% in the previous year. 

The scholarship is automatically given by the university. Hence, no separate application is necessary. This scholarship can be combined with other scholarships from the  University of Sheffield as long as the student does not receive full funding for the tuition fees.
