Durham University offers a range of scholarships to students from India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Vietnam. The scholarships are available to students wanting to start their undergraduate or postgraduate education at the university. The scholarships are only available for the academic year 2024, and the benefit is an amount of £5,000 per year as a tuition fee discount. Moreover, these scholarships are available for most of the university’s programmes. The scholarship amount is available for the timescale of the programme. However, certain postgraduate taught programmes are an exception. No separate application is necessary for this scholarship.
International Scholarships Eligibility
The Durham University International Scholarship eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Must be a national of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Malaysia, or Nigeria
- Moreover, the student must be self-funding his/her education. Failure to disclose an external funding source can invalidate the scholarship provided.
- Be willing to cooperate and participate in marketing and communication activities of the Faculty of Durham University. For example, provide scholarship testimonials, attend open events, webinars, etc
- Must not withdraw from the scholarship commitments
- Additionally, the student must agree not to transfer the scholarship as it is prohibited.
International Scholarship Application Process
The application process for the Durham University International Scholarship are as follows:
- First, complete the university admission application process in full.
- Receive a conditional offer letter from the university, and accept the offer letter to study in an eligible programme at the university
- Lastly, the student can wait for the scholarship decision. The decisions are made at the discretion of the international office. Only successful applicants are notified of the scholarship.
This scholarship does not include all Business School programs (at all levels), PGCE, undergraduate Law programs, MSW in Social Work, Graduate Diplomas, all research postgraduate programs, PGCERT in Education, Executive MSc in Behavioral Science, or MA in Conservation of Archaeological and Museum Objects.
